  • The herbs in this blend are alterative and lymphagogues that are thought to be lymph-moving herbs. These herbs can aid the body in getting lymph flowing and assist with detoxification and drainage. Each ingredient in this blend was thoughtfully selected to be helpful and effective for your lymphatic system. The combination of these herbs can be very multi-dimensional in supporting numerous different systems in the body at the same time.

Below is a description of each herb used in this blend with specific details on how it works for your lymphatic system and other parts of your body.

Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)—Alterative (blood purifier) and lymphatic properties. Can act as a mast cell stabilizer, which in turn can minimize allergy symptoms. A bitter herb that can be used for general liver problems as it can stimulate bile function and strengthens the liver.

Cleavers (Galium aparine)—Diuretic, lymphatic and kidney tonic properties. Is known to accelerate drainage in the lymphatic system and promote urination.

Calendula Flowers (Calendula officinalis)—Astringent and vulnerary properties. Can work well as a remedy for inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale)—Alterative (blood purifier), bitter, digestive tonic, hepatoprotective, cholagogue, and diuretic properties. Most known for its helpful effect on the pancreas, digestive system, and urinary system. The Root of Dandelion is specifically used for promoting bile flow and supporting the liver. It can help the gastrointestinal system by encouraging digestive excretions.

Chickweed (Stellaria media)—Demulcent (mucilant), nutritive, and emollient properties. A mucilaginous herb most known to break down large tumors in the body and break down fats. It is also thought to be a mild appetite suppressant and can aid in weight loss when taken 1 hour prior to eating.

Red Clover Blossoms (Trifolium pratense)—Alterative (blood purifier), lymphatic, and phytoestrogen properties. Red clover is a blood purifying herb that when used in conjunction with other blood purifying herbs can aid in assisting conditions and diseases such as liver detoxification, swollen lymph glands, and cancer. The phytoestrogens in red clover are thought to possibly hinder estrogen-dependent cancers.

Red Root (Ceanothus americanus)—Astringent and lymphatic properties. Can work as an effective lymphatic detoxifier. Red root is thought to aid in reducing swollen lymph nodes and can shrink an enlarged spleen. When mixed with Echinacea, it can aid in supporting cysts, tonsillitis, and toxicities in the lymph glands. For patients with AIDS who are experiencing low platelet counts, inflamed lymph nodes, or enlarged spleen, red root can work exceptionally well.

Nettle Leaf, Stinging (Urtica dioica)—Anti-allergenic, tonic, anti-inflammatory, mineralizer, antihistamine, mast cell stabilizer, kidney tonic, and diuretic properties. Nettle leaf can aid in building healthy blood and supporting anemia. As an herbal food, nettle leaf is extremely nourishing to the body as they are rich in iron, calcium, protein, and magnesium. Nettle leaf is thought to be very anti-inflammatory and can help with conditions such as asthma, allergies, rheumatism, and gout.

Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale)—Analgesic (anodyne), anti-emetic (anti-nauseous), aromatic, carminative, counterirritant, diaphoretic, digestive tonic, and circulatory stimulant properties. When taken with or after meals, ginger root can accelerate the digestive system to create healthy secretions. Ginger root is known to promote immune function, enhance emission of gastric fluids and bile movement. Ginger root can also inhibit platelet accumulation which in turn can increase blood flow and distribution.

Echinacea (Echinacea angustifolia)—Alterative (blood purifier), antiseptic, antivenomous, antiviral, immune stimulant, and lymphatic properties. Echinacea can promote the production of white blood cells and can also aid in the formation of antibodies. It is also known to help boost and empty lymph nodes. Echinacea is thought to obstruct hyaluronidase (an enzyme formed by bacteria that halts compounds that attach cells together), thus obstructing the distribution of infection. Echinacea can also support the body when attacking viral infections.

Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra)—Adaptogen, anti-inflammatory, antitussive, demulcent (mucilant), and hypertensive properties. Licorice root is a potent mucosal anti-inflammatory that can aid in support for esophageal, urinary, respiratory, and gastric inflammation. It can also normalize blood sugar levels and can be an effective remedy for both diabetes and hypoglycemia.

Peppermint Leaf (Mentha x piperita)—Antacid, anti-emetic (anti-nauseous), aromatic, carminative, diaphoretic, and digestive tonic properties. Peppermint can work as a comforting aromatic with main effects on the nervous system, stomach, and colon. It is thought to be an excellent remedy when used in conjunction with other herbs in recipes for severe conditions. Peppermint can expel gas, settle the stomach, and can have a minor soothing effect on colds, fevers, and headaches.
